About The Artist

I'm Gene (Geno) Hayden

I've had the great fortune to have been born and raised in Asia — I've lived 42 years of my life in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Cape Town, South Africa, with intermittent periods in the USA, including Austin, Texas, where I currently reside.

I started drawing Chinese warriors as a young child in Taiwan and never really stopped. After two years as an Art Major at Virginia Commonwealth University and Weber State University, I returned to Hong Kong and Singapore as a Corporate Executive for 26 years. Since retiring in 2018, I found some of my daughter's art supplies, started drawing and painting with pastels, and realized I had returned full circle to the craft that I love.

"A lifelong love of color, nature, shadows and light."
